Amber Little joins us as the new Boarding House Manager at Charlton, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a passion for supporting families and individuals in securing safe and stable housing.
Amber has a strong background in housing and social services, having worked as a Housing Broker and Case Manager for the Ministry of Social Development (MSD). In these roles, she collaborated closely with real estate agencies, private landlords, community youth group providers, and transitional housing providers to support at-risk families and individuals. Amber has extensive experience in stakeholder relationship management, case management, and delivering wrap-around support services to help her clients overcome barriers and achieve housing stability.
Amber's skills and expertise are extensive. She excels in time management and organisational skills, and her exceptional customer service and relationship management abilities stand out. She is proficient in negotiation, networking, and data management, and has experience in supporting clients with mental health and addiction issues. Amber's strong communication skills, both written and oral, and her cultural awareness, including experience presenting on cultural awareness, are valuable assets. She is also proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting.
Personally, Amber is known for her sensitivity, empathy, compassion, and personal integrity. She is motivated and dedicated to going the extra mile in her position, bringing valuable life experience to her role. Amber enjoys gardening, walking, and spending time with her son, and is actively involved in supporting autistic activities within the community.
