Hi I'm Mike!

In a career in journalism spanning 40 years, Mike worked primarily as a music journalist and senior sub editor for a variety of publications including The Dominion, the Waikato Times, Sunday Star-Times and then the stuff website. He has been the New Zealand correspondent for Rolling Stone magazine, a PR person for the Auckland City Council and has hosted his own radio show, Sounds of Silence. His love of music saw him set up Bunk Records, who had success with The Mockers, Beat Rhythm Fashion and most notably The Knobz, whose hit single Culture stayed on the New Zealand charts for 27 weeks. Towards the end of his career Mike transitioned into boarding house management with NW Property Management and Charlton Property Management.
